Irritant/contact: Most of hand eczema are from exposure to excessive amount of irritant (solvent, soap etc) or too much water. Around 25% is from contact allergy to an allergen (chemicals, raw food etc). The best approach is avoidance of these triggers. Topical cortisone may help but is not a long term solution.
