Sun exposure: Melanoma is the deadliest form of skin cancer & rates of melanoma are rising rapidly, particularly in young people. Cases of melanoma have tripled in the past 30 years. It is believed that 90% of all melanomas are caused by ultraviolet radiation from the sun or indoor tanning devices. Excessive unprotected sun exposure & the use of commercial tanning beds seem to be primary causes in young people.
