I woke during the night with severe thumb pain. by the morning i was unable to bend my thumb at all due to severe pain and a lump on the joint. i'm 39?

Thumb pain: Could be a bug bite, a dislocation, or something else. A cyst is a possibility but the quick onset put that low on the list. Please see your doctor. He/she will take care of you. Peace and good health.
