A member asked:

My sister took 300mg of visitaril. she's 14, 5'2, and 100lbs. what do i do?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

When taking too much: When a person is taking too much of a medication at one time, that is an overdose. Vistaril doses are about 25-50mg each dose, so 300mg at one time is too much. A patient is such a situation needs to be examined by the doctors in the Emergency Room. If seeming fine, and the ER is nearby, a family member can drive her to the ER. Otherwise, calling 911 for the ambulance is the safest way to go.
