A member asked:

Hi! is it possible my birth control use for 10 years is contributing for my blood test showing tsh (4.12), egfr (71) and potassium (5.1) thanks!

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Unlikely: All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Talk to the doctor who ordered the tests. Having said that, it is unlikely that birth control is the cause of these values. Only eGFR is an issue of concern.
