Viral: These symptoms are not typical of a paranasal sinus infection but may be part of a viral upper respiratory tract infection. A throat culture, if not already taken, is recommended,however. If symptoms persist a consultation with an Otolaryngologist would be helpful. In the meantime, take adequate fluids and use Tylenol for some relief.

Sinusitis: Which antibiotics does he have you on? Usually we may try Augmentin ( a Penicillin so do not take if allergic) and if that does not work Levaquin.( do not take if allergic ) But you may have a abscess as well which requires drainage. or mastoiditis or reflux/allergies may be complicating the issue. Would f/u w/ ENT /ER
