Infections & hormonal changes can cause spotting. If there is a concern for pregnancy then redo a home pregnancy test . There are many options available to help regulate the menstrual cycle. Many possible causes: Pregnancy isn't the only thing that can cause you to miss your period. Extreme dieting, anorexia, training for a marathon, PCOS, thyroid problems, anovulation, uncontrolled diabetes and many other things can cause this. She should see an Ob/Gyn and find out what is causing her to miss periods. Best wishes!
