See below: Normal U/A likely rules out a UTI as the cause of your symptoms. A post-void ultrasound bladder scan would determine whether you are truly emptying your bladder adequately or retaining urine. If no retention but you have other urinary symptoms (urgency, frequency) along with bladder discomfort, interstitial cystitis a possibility. If not, pelvic ultrasound would help rule out non-urinary causes.
