A member asked:

Can methylprednisone cause fluid to accumulate in the middle ear to accumulate and cause more pain temporarily?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Probably not: Corticosteroids such as prednisone or methylprednisolone decrease inflammation and help resolve fluid from the middle ear in patients who seem to have fluid stuck in the middle ear. That said, many things are "possible" in life, so the answer to the question, "Can it happen that...," is almost always YES.
