Provera: Taking provera 10mg by mouth for 10 days may bring on your period. However, if you have irregular periods it is a good idea to see a doctor for workup of what the cause could be. Possible causes include PCOS, hypo- or hyperthyroidism, elevated prolactin levels, or other hormonal causes.
