Maybe: There can be treatment failures for the following reasons in which re-infection is possible. 1) One partner or the other failed to take the antibiotic at the same synchronized time. 2.) Either partner is resistant to the antibiotic.3) Failure to take the antibiotic at all. That is why both partners need to be re-tested after completing the antibiotic therapy.
