I have a few years ago had viral incephalitis. i am having similar symptoms is it common for the disease to reoccur?

Yes...but...: There are many viruses that can lead to a viral meningitis and or encephalitis. You will develop immunity to that strain after recovery. Since there are others that can do the same thing you can become sick with another strain. However, the symptoms are sometimes vague and overlap other conditions. Only a proper evaluation can know if you are having another case.
