The timing of the rash suggests that the cause is either an infection or an allergic reaction. Hives and itching though are hallmark signs of allergic reactions. Monitor temperature and breathing of the baby, consider viral testing, including COVID 19. It is possible that the baby is allergic to different antibiotics, but more commonly the rash is viral. Keep all vaccinations current/PCP check.
