Many good meds: Lisinopril is an excellent, low-cost BP medication and works well for many people. It is particularly a good first choice for kidney protection if someone is diabetic or prediabetic. In some people there can be a side effecst of cough or elevation in potassium levels. There are many BP medication choices out there so if Lisinopril doesn't work, your doctor can choose another medication later.
