A member asked:

My xray impressions say that i have pulmonary hyperareation and pneumonia on the right lower lobe? what does this mean? and is it life threatening?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Infection!: Pneumonia is an infection of the lung. I can be bacterial or viral. Hyperareation suggests that air may be trapped in the lung. This can occur due to inflammation and spasm of bronchial tubes. Mucous can also block air passages. This can be seen in several processes including asthma / COPD. Any infection demands a doctors care.
