A member asked:

Is it safe to pop my hemorrhoids with a pin since they want go bk up?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Please, don’t: Hemorrhoids are caused by bulging veins in the rectal area. Popping a hemorrhoid will lead to bleeding and may cause an infection. If constipation is the cause, fix that. Hemorrhoidal swelling can be improved with sugar compresses and medications like compounded nitroglycerin paste 0.2%. If severe, you may need surgery, banding or sclerotherapy of the rectal vessels.
