A member asked:

Adopting a stray. got some scratches. cat is at the animal shelter now getting vaccines. vet said probably no issues, but...shld i wrry abt rabies?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Doubtful: I would contact your local health department and seek their opinion. Rabies is a regional issue in the US and continuous surveillance is done to document cases in wildlife and any need for vaccine. County health departments often hold the regional vaccine supply. Cats are considered low risk.
