Hip pain: In your age group, other than an injury, bursitis rather than arthritis would be the most likely cause of hip pain. Often there is also a tender area over the inflamed bursa. A week's course of an anti-inflammatory medication like ibuprofen or naproxen usually helps. If symptoms persist consult an orthopedic surgeon. An xray will probably be ordered as part of the evaluation.
