A member asked:

I have tested positive to t.pallidum and negative to the rpr (vdrl) does that mean i have the std or do i have to consult the dr.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Confusing post: T. Pallidum is the germ that causes syphilis. RPR is a screening (not definitive) test for syphilis. A positive alternative test specifically for the germ suggests you are or have been infected by the germ. I assume it is one of the other blood tests. I would consult with the doctor because you would require treatment if it has not been done in the past. The infection can hang around for decades.
