Ask social worker: Sorry about your mom. There are both federal and state laws that may apply. Ask your employer or your mom's social worker (if on hospice or palliative care they can also provide or refer to one) about information and how to apply for fmla (the family medical leave act) and also about any state laws/regulations that may apply.
