What does burning sensation in inguinal hernia mean?

Nerve irritation: A common symptom associated with inguinal (groin) hernias is a burning sensation overlying the groin and/or the thigh. This is due to the hernia pushing up against the nerves that innervate these areas. While rarely disabling, this symptom will go away after hernia repair.

Depends: You have a symptomatic inguinal hernia. As long as you can push it back in, it is not an emergency. Symptomatic inguinal hernias should be fixed.
