Clubbing: Clubbing of the nails can be seen in a variety of diseases. Lung and congenital heart disorders are some examples. Congestive heart failure can cause edema of the lower extremities but usually both sides are affected. A physician or cardiologist could evaluate the patient and determine the cause of the clubbing and whether congestive heart failure is causing the edema.
