Maybe: The best way to reduce the risk of infection during a surgical abortion, or D&C, is to take a prophylactic antibiotic prior to the abortion. Most clinics will give a patient this medication on the day of the abortion. The azithromyin 2 days before would not be enough to work as a prophylactic antibiotic. Infection from an abortion is rare, but if you are concerned you should see your doctor.
