Mouthwash: More difficult to clean teeth when braces are in place. Phos=Flur helps harden tooth enamel, making it more impervious to the acids produced by bacteria which can cause decalcification (white spots, cavities) next to the braces. Fluoride in mouthwash converts enamel from hydroxy-apatite to four-apatite crystals which are more acid resistant.
