Confusing post: When you are pregnant, the embryo/placental mass generates a chemical that turns the pregnancy test positive as early as 2-3 wks after conception. Even the drug store home tests are accurate when done correctly. The hormones in your pills don't interfere with that test or change the results. Lighter periods are common if you are on the pill.
