A member asked:

Does the blood flow get cut off to the ovaries if you have a total hysterectomy with only ovaries left? could this become a problem?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Ovarian blood supply: If the uterus alone is removed, the uterine artery blood supply is interrupted and tied as well as that portion that goes to the ovary. If the ovaries are removed along with the uterus, the ovarian artery itself is also tied. In other words, the ovaries have a double blood supply from two arteries.
