Kidney and high BP: Removing a kidney is a rather extreme way to treat hypertension (h). You need to discuss with your physician why your blood pressure cannot be controlled with medication. Did your physician tell you one of your kidneys is the cause of your h? If you have a renal artery stenosis causing your h then you may need an angioplasty to correct the problem. Please discuss this with your doctor.

No: The kidney is the one of the major organs regulation BP. In this day of BP mediations, there are no patients whose BP can't be controlled by medication. You may see a BP specialist and or a Kidney doc if needed. Save your kidneys, and take care of them, you need them!
