I've had a bad cough with green mucus for almost a week. also i've felt very run down, some chills and very cold like. that's gone away but not the cough and mucus. will this go away or do i need to see a doctor?

Depends: Typically these symptoms are initially caused by a virus. Most viruses resolve after about one week though cough can persist longer. Viruses cause secretions and bacteria love standing water. Return of fever (chills), shortness of breath, or persistently productive cough would be signs of secondary bacterial infection and antibiotics can help. If not improving or getting worse next 4 days see doc.
