What is the best way to go about treating acne skin ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Several options...: Over-the-counter medications for acne are helpful and usually contain benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid. They help kill some acne germs, reduce the amount of dead skin cells plugging pores, and decrease some of the skin oils, to dry the skin somewhat. One should not over-wash, over-scrub, or irritate the skin. OTC acne meds are usually twice a day, but less if the skin gets too dry or irritated.
