Patience: Chickenpox scars are very superficial unless they were picked/or infected by skin bacteria. It can take up to a year or more for the skin to return to normal appearance. It is important to use a sunscreen on affected areas to prevent sun damage to the healing skin. In time the skin will heal and the slower process of achieving uniform skin tone will happen.
