Be gentle & patient: For now, avoid rubbing or scratching the lesions to prevent infection. If you need relief, gently apply cool compresses. After the acute illness subsides, protect any scars from the sun, which tends to cause darkening of scars. Continue for up to a year for the scars to mature and fade completely. With a bit of luck, no further treatment should be needed.
