Life isn't that way.: There is no egg "right before menstruation." The egg exists for about one day in mid-cycle, which means there is no menstruation until 2 weeks later at the end of the cycle. By the time menstruation starts, there hasn't been an egg for the last 2 weeks. Timing is approximate... but a woman has an egg for about one day (maybe 2 calendar days at the most), about 2 weeks before menstrual bleeding.
