I have a cyst on the hand directly below the little finger. i pricked my hand on a rose thorn about 3 weeks ago. the cyst came up overnight.

This may: be a "ganglion" cyst ( tendon "poking up" into its sheath due to a defect in the sheath) the rose thorn possibly created this tear.....in any case an in person examination is suggested.... Hope this is helpful Just a thought! Dr Z

A thorn: It is possible that a small thorn or foreign body is embedded in the cyst....I would open the cyst to see what comes out...and even if no foreign body or thorn comes out, draining the cyst maybe all that is necessary...dr. murray wellner
