A member asked:

I did a tsh test with results of 4.6 miu/l. the gp said my thyroid is fine, yet i am still tired, difficult to lose weight. what is a normal tsh range?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Normal laboratory: range for TSH is 0.4 to 4.0 mU/L. Checking for a free T4 in addition to the TSH may help differentiate any conditions in which there is subclinical hypothyroidism or hyperthyroidism. Or there may be other conditions independent of thyroid that may cause fatigue and weight gain, such as Cushing's.
