Bumps: Bumps inside the mouth can come from a variety of causes. For example, salivary (saliva) glands can form bumps called mucoceles. These are generally inside the cheeks. Bumps on the gums can be due to tooth problems, medications, infections or more serious conditions. New and unusual growths should be evaluated by a doctor to exclude worrisome causes such as cancer or infection.
