Sounds ok, but...: A normal, healthy woman taking birth control pills should not have altered effectiveness of her birth control pills if she takes typical doses of over-the-counter magnesium supplements. One should be sure to discuss with her doctor why she would need 500mg of magnesium more than her diet supplies her.

No: Simply take your oral contraceptive pill separately, and wait at least one hour before taking the Magnesium pill.
