SEE A DOCTOR: I am sensitive to this situation. My mother had blood in her stool, diagnosed by her doctor as "hemorrhoids." She died within years of complications from surgery for bowel cancer. Get it checked out. Your age is not listed--if you are young, there is probably another reason.

Blood in stool: Unexplained blood in stool needs to be evaluated by your doctor. It could be internal bleeding or simply hemorrhoids. Be safe and have peace of mind. Please see doc. Peace and good health.

Hematochezia: The term for bright red blood per rectum is hematochezia. There are multiple possibilities. It may be from hemorrhoids (internal or external). If you are a middle aged or older male, it may be bleeding from a polyp. Or a diverticular bleed. Or another source. There That it is a few drops might be slightly reassuring. It should be evaluated by a clinician. Please see your PCP as soon as possible.
