A member asked:

What is meant when a us mesenteric artery says ima is patent and shows elevated velocities suggesting hemodynamically significant stenosis?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Symptoms=angiogram: Suggestion of stenosis on ultrasound should be corroborated by angiogram especially if any GI symptoms are present. Collaterals may have formed to protect IMA territory but angiogram can answer that question as well as allow for intervention if necessary
