Nonspecific genes: Generally speaking, emotional disorders run in families and don't necessarily have to follow a "match" pattern in that my parent has "x" so i develop "x." rather, non-specific genetic vulnerabilities to respond to stress in a certain fashion, predisposition to experience "negative affect or emotion, " and psychological vulnerabilities interact to create the risk for certain disorders.
