Not necessary: If you have a normal diet, breast feeding provides your baby with everything needed, with the possible exception of Vitamin D, which is added to your formula. As long as your baby is getting at least 32 oz of formula/day, no additional vit D supplement is needed. If giving less than 32 oz formula/day, the only thing you need to add is vitamin D, 400 IU per day (best given as vitamin D drops)
