A member asked:

What can a breastfeeding lady take for flu? 6 weeks old baby

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Flu+breastfeeding: Avoid taking decongestants such as pseudoephedrine (the D component in combo antihistamine-decongestant) as that will decrease breast milk production. Antihistamines such as zyrtec, allegra or claritin are fine. Your body is creating antibodies against the cold which will be excreted into the breastmilk. Your baby may end up with a cold but no need to stop breastfeeding.
