A member asked:

Took rubella test a year ago and result high avidity igg and -ive igm. im 10weeks pregnant now and my igm is in grayzone (1.28), is it bad?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Rubella IgM: If the IgM was negative "a year ago", and now is "1:28" it indicates exposure to Rubella virus. Get another IgM test in a week, and if rising , it may indicate an active Rubella infection in the first trimester (10 weeks pregnant). If negative or even not rising (still at 1:28) there is minimal likelihood of an effect on the fetus.
