Common Medication: Dilantin is a commonly used medication to control seizures. Fosphenytoin is a newer version. Doctors will monitor blood levels and adjust as needed depending on control of seizures - or add additional meds or change the regimen all together depending on the situation. Seizures can be caused by trauma, infection, drug reactions/adverse effects but many times the cause is not known.
