A member asked:

Can semen cause uti? i'm 6 weeks pregnant. ever since we have been having unprotected sex i have been getting uti's. use to get them alot as a kid. this is the first time in years. had uti march 5 and now march 28th. idk if same one or new bacteria

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No: Germs cause UTI's not semen. Sexual activity itself can increase UTI frequency because it can irritate the pee outlet. The irritation can mimic a UTI, so if you are not having a culture done it may be just irritation. Many suggest voiding after sex to clear the outlet of any random germs.
