A member asked:

Both ovaries show multiple tiny subcentimerer sized follicles with central echogenic stroma.no free fluid. regular period. should i be scared?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Ovarian cysts: Ovarian cysts, especially those of under 1 cm. are usually just follicles which have failed to rupture on ovulation over time. When "central echogenic stroma" are noted, they usually have Doppler flow data stated with the ultrasound report. If the Doppler flow is reported as normal, there is minimal reason statistically for concern.
