A member asked:

Im on levothyroxine, over the past 5 yrs my goiter has grown .5 cm.its still under 1 cm, levels are good dr wants a biopsy done. should i be worried?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

You should go: through all fine needle aspiration or biopsies necessary as the #1 concern for thyroid mass is cancer, which is very difficult to treat. It is a rare complication of thyroid goiter, and you should not have to worry much if you go through with the biopsy. Good functional thyroid levels are reassuring. Thanks for trusting in HealthTap
