My sis has aml and the doctor said he should undergo auto stem cell transplant. he hasnt done any treatment how does it work and the process?

Get a second opinion: AML is a serious condition but it is potentially curable especially in younger age (<50 years). The standard treatment for AML in the young is chemotherapy in order to attain what is called a Complete response(CR). If there is success with the chemotherapy, then Bone marrow transplant may be advised but it is based on what type(Genetically) is her AML: Favorable or Unfavorable? A 2nd opinion Advis
