Lemon and dialysis: Lemon juice has potassium (k). Elevated k levels are common in dialysis patients due to their kidneys not being able to eliminate k. Ask the patient's renal dietician (d) your question. The d will know the patient's k level and residual renal function. The d will be able to tell you how much, and if you should, give lemons to the patient in question.
