A member asked:

Bleeding between periods and pelvic pain can cause by hormonal imbalance? becoz i have thyroid nodules? i'm worried

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Irreg menses ?: Significant bleeding between periods is not expected. Thyroid nodules are common, and unless lab results show that thyroid hormone production is not normal, they do not cause such bleeding. If you are not using a hormonal form of birth control, obtain a serum HCG test to be certain you are not pregnant. See your gyn provider for an exam and testing.
