Spider bite: It can take 24to 48 hours for antibiotics to kick in . You can take antihistamines as well , they would help to decrease redness caused by toxic reaction to venom . If redness spreads, spike fever , feel worse then GP back and see your doctor

Spider bite: Warmth and redness indicate a probable secondary skin infection which the antibiotic given by mouth should take care of. If there is associated itching you could add an antihistamine medication. See your physician if redness continues to spread or if fever and chills develop. Tetanus shot is indicated if you haven't had a booster for 10 years.
